The Black Pearls of Lemuria – an untold story
Long long ago in the land of Harmony, known as the Motherland of Mu, there lived a race of people of exceptional Beauty of body, heart and spirit. The most beautiful of these people was a Princess known as Ta-Vi-Na, whose name meant the Goddess is Life
Ta-Vi-Na loved to dance and sing the songs of the Elders. One morning she unknowingly performed a forbidden dance and sang a song sacred to the gods. Her song and movements awoke the God-who-Sleeps. His angry breath caused the volcanoes to spew forth ash and lava, his stirrings tore the land apart and his violent stamping of feet caused the ocean to rise in huge waves.
And so it came to pass that the lands of Lemuria were submerged by the huge seas and the ash of volcanic eruptions spread desolation over its beauty. With her father, Jo-Su-An, and those who had heeded the call to depart, Ta-Vi-Na took to the skies in the Flying Boats to begin the journey to the safety of the land of Queen Califa of Fornia.
As she looked in anguish at her lost homeland, Ta-Vi-Na noticed black sooty tears slowly rolling down her cheeks. Her tears gently fell into the shallow oyster beds that her sisters had once cultivated with love. Each black tear, as if by magic, embedded itself into an oyster shell and slowly hardened, at the same time taking on the iridescent hues of the water of Lemuria. Some were turquoise, some as black as the depths of the ocean itself, some the same honey colour of the women’s skins.
It was then that Ta-Vi-Na realised that her tears contained a promise: that no matter how dark life on this planet should become, the black pearls would hold the wisdom and the memory of days that had been. She knew that one day these oyster beds would again be cultivated and the harvest of the black pearls would herald the time of the return of Love and Truth to this Earth.
Lemuria would again rise, and the Women of the Flower Beds would return.
