This watch phone’s functions and menus are intuitive and will be simple to use for anyone that is familiar with general cell phone operation.

 

Its features include a camera, music and video player (mp3&mp4) and touch-sensitive screen for navigation that also allows handwritten input via a stylus that comes with it.

 

The following information will help you to get the best from your watch phone and provides information on security features and network settings, so please keep it for reference purposes.

 

1.Getting started:

First, you need to install a SIM card and battery.

Your watch phone supports 1.8v and 3v SIM card. It does not support 5v SIM card. It is quad-band, operating on GSM850/900/1800/1900MHz Wavelengths.

 

2.SIM installation

If your watch phone is switched on, press the ON/OFF button for a few seconds to power off then remove the battery

Position the SIM card in the SIM card slot, carefully slide it into position

Reinstall the battery; make sure that this is installed correctly before powering on again.

 

3.Charging the battery

Connect the USB cable to a computer’s USB port or a USB power adaptor and the other end to the USB slot on the left hand side of the watch phone.

To get the best performance from your battery, please drain it completely and then recharge fully for the first three charges, without making any “top-up” charges. This will ensure the best performance is obtained. It is recommended that you completely drain and then fully recharge the battery every month.

4.Connecting to a network :

After inserting your SIM card and switching on, the phone will automatically search for the network .You can then dial or receive calls and access to the phone’s other functions.

 

5.General use

5.1 switching on

Press and hold down the ON/OFF key to power on or off

The watch phone will then start in phone mode

To go into watch mode, press the ON/OFF key one time. The opposite is also applicable to.

5.2Buttons

From the main screen the button functions are as follows:

The functions of these buttons may change, depending on the menu that you are in on the function that you are using.

This will be indicated by text next to the bottom left and right buttons. The up and down buttons are typically used for navigation, if you don’t wish to use the stylus or touch screen facility.

5.4Making a call

You can make calls in three ways:

nClick on the telephone icon in the bottom center of the display to bring up a keypad screen and directly input the number you wish to call.

nOpen the phonebook, select and click a contact, then follow the option to make a call.

nClick the Call Center to view your recent call logs, from this list you can select and call these numbers again.

 

6.Phonebook
The phonebook can store 1000 phone numbers. From this menu you can add or edit new entries, search your phone book, copy phone book entries between your phone and SIM card’s memory and assign custom pictures or ringtones to different people.

  

 

7. Messaging

From this menu, you can send text messages, multimedia messages, email or check your voicemail. Please see the separate section on inputting text for instructions on how to write and edit text in messages.

 

8. Call center

From this menu, you can choose whether you want to view recent calls, missed called, received calls and also see how long your calls have been.

 

9. Settings

This menu contains the options for setting up your watch phone ,including Pen calibration, Phone settings(time and date, Schedule power on/off, Language, Pref. input methods, Encoding, Display, Auto update of date and time, Flight mode, Handwriting, Misc. settings.), Network settings, Security settings, Restore factory settings.

 

10. Multimedia

From here you can use the built in camera to take still or video images, use the media player functions to play mp3 music files or mp4 video files, also sound recorder and FM radio are under this menu.

10.1 Camera- the top and middle left buttons control the zoom function .press and hold the bottom left button to take a picture. See menu for other options

10.2 Video- click middle bottom icon to start recording video. See the options menu in the function to adjust other settings.

10.3 Audio player- the audio player will play files that are stored in your watch phone’s internal memory or micro SD card in the ‘my music’ folder.

10.4 FM radio- plug in earphone and select a channel you want to listen to.

 

11. Fun & Games

Under this menu, you can find File manager, Java, Games and Bluetooth.

 

12. User profiles

Select and edit the different settings for each profile here. Then you can easily change to the most appropriate setting for where you are or what you are doing .You can adjust ringtones, volume, and alerts etc..

 

13. Organizer

From this menu you can select the eBook reader, Calendar, Tasks, Alarm and World clock functions.

 

14. Services

WAP internet access is available from this menu. You may need to contact your network provider for information on the correct network settings to use.

You can also set up and use Bluetooth accessories, including the handset from here. Please see the separate section for information on how to pair and use these devices.

 

15. Connecting to a PCvia USB

When you connect your watch phone to a pc’s USB port, a menu will open that gives you three options:

15.1 mass storage — this enables you to transfer data to and from your watch phone, including images, videos and music or other audio files. When you select this option, the watch phone’s internal memory will appear in ‘my computer ‘as a remote drive. You can cut, copy or paste files to this.

15.2 COM port — this enables your watch phone to be used as a modem. Please follow the instructions that appear on your PCs screen to set up and use this function.

15.3 Java connection — this enables you to operate the Java relative function.

 

16. Battery indicator

Your watch phone displays its battery status on the top right of the screen .When the battery is low, the screen will show “ battery low “ and you can choose an alarm to sound to let you know when charging is required .

When charging, the screen will show an animation to let you know how charging is progressing .when the battery is full it will say ‘charging complete ‘.

For a full charge:

Standby time: approximately 120-160 hours

Talk time: approximately 120-230 minutes.

Note: the actual standby and talk time are affected by whether you are using the other functions too, the local network and SIM card and the settings you choose.

 

17. Using a earphone

When you insert a earphone directly into the slot, it will enter earphone mode automatically.

 

18. Connecting to a Bluetooth headset

nFrom the ‘Fun & Games’ menu, select ‘Bluetooth’

nActivate Bluetooth on your watch phone in this menu.

nSelect ‘inquiry audio device’. It will now begin searching for the Bluetooth headset.

nHold down the ‘function’ button on the Bluetooth headset’s control unit until the red and blue indicator lights flash. When they are flashing, release the button.

nThe watch phone will then display the headset as ‘Genesis V5’ (this will show your Bluetooth model number). Select this to start pairing.

nWhen you are prompted for a pass code, enter 0000.

nWhen the pairing is successful, the blue light will flash at two second intervals.

nYou can now make and receive calls using the Bluetooth headset.

 

19.Listening to music via the Bluetooth headset

lActivate Bluetooth on your watch phone and pair with your headset according to the instructions in the relevant section.

lSelect the watch phone’s audio player function and play the music.

lNow you can enjoy music via Bluetooth headset, no matter you use a stereo Bluetooth headset or a mono one..

 

20. Text input

This mobile supports direct stylus input. This can be used in editing the phonebook, text messages, memos, file management and in other functions.

When you are inputting letters, click to switch to capitals.

nClick or to show or hide the virtual keypad .

nClick to switch between normal input mode and symbols mode.

nClick to input a space

nClick to delete the character before

nClick to go to the next line

nClick Options’ for selection of input method etc.

22. Safety notice

Please do not use your phone when driving .Please use hand free-accessories if it is absolutely necessary to make a call.

Remember it is illegal in some countries to make any calls when driving.

When flying, please make sure that you obey the airline’s policy on mobile phones and switch it off if requested.

Please ensure that your phone is switched off at petrol stations, especially when refueling your vehicle.

Please check and abide by local polices regarding phone use in places such as hospitals where use may cause interference or danger.

This watch phone can be only be maintained by professionals. Attempting to repair or modify it will void the guarantee.

Only use the accessories and battery supplied, or replacements approved by the supplier.

Note: as with any mobile phone, your network provider may not support all of the functions featured. Certain networks may even not support the 112 international emergency call number.

23. Care of your watch phone

nOnly use the original battery or a supplier approved replacement.

nPower off before removing the battery.

nAvoid putting the battery near anything made of metal (such as keys) as these may cause it to short circuit.

nDo not dispose of the battery in fire.

nDo not disassemble or attempt to repair the watch phone, its battery or accessories .if damaged or if fault occur these should be taken to a professional repair centre.

nWhen not in use, store the battery in cool and dry places only, away from sources of heat. (over 55 degree)

nStop using at once if you notice the battery emitting any unusual odors.

nStop using it when there are any cracks, distortion, leakage or any other visible damage to the battery .

nDo not clean watch phone, battery or accessories with water or any liquid cleanser or immerse them in water .If cleaning is necessary, wipe with a dry soft cloth only .

nCharge the battery fully before storage if it is not going to be used for a long time.

nWhen the battery reaches the end of its life recycle it in an appropriate recycling scheme.

nKeep the mobile phone and accessories out of the reach of children.

nKeep away from rains, moisture and all other liquids.

nIf the watch phone does get wet, take out battery, and only reinstall it when completely dry.

nDo not use or store in dusty or sandy conditions.

nHigh temperature will shorten the life of the electronic components and also damage the battery and certain plastic parts.

nDo not throw, hit or shake your watch phone.

 

24.Security

If your phone watch is lost or stolen, please notify your service provider as soon as possible to block the use of the phone and SIM card to avoid excessive unauthorized call costs.

To prevent unauthorized use of your phone, please take safety measure, such as: setting the SIM card pin number, setting the phone pin.

 

25. Passwords

Your mobile phone and SIM card have password functions which can protect your mobile and SIM card from unauthorized use. These can be changed by selecting’ settings—Security settings—change password’. The default password (referred to as’ keyword’) is 1234

 

26. PIN

lThis can protect your SIM card from unauthorized use

lThe PIN is supplied with the SIM card by the network provider. Please see this for more information.

lNote: if the PIN is input incorrectly 3 times, the SIM card will be locked andit will then be necessary to use a PUK code to unlock it. The PUK is stored by your network provider and you will need to contact them to obtain this.

PIN2 --- this is 4—8 digit number supplied with SIM card. It is required to set up the call cost and fixed dial functions .please contact your provider to confirm if your SIM card supports these functions.If you input the pin2 incorrectly twice, pin2 will be locked .if this occurs, please contact your network provider for details on how to unlock it.
